Edgewater Beach Cafe - Chicago

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing and the prices are incredibly reasonable. My personal favorite dishes are the escargot and French onion gratin soup. The chef is highly skilled, having been trained at Le Cordon Bleu, and it definitely shows in the delicious flavors of the food. In addition, you can also enjoy the same great food at the neighboring Le Pharmacie if you wish.

This restaurant offers a sophisticated dining experience with a tranquil and elegant atmosphere. The tables are set with table linens, fine silverware, and Riedel wine glasses. The menu features French-inspired dishes that are rich in butter, cream, and flavor. The service was excellent, making it the perfect choice for a peaceful and upscale dinner outing for adults.

It just stupfies me why this restaurant is not the most crowded place in Edgewater. The Edgewater Beach Cafe is the absolute best in the neighborhood! Tried every other restaurant and there's no comparison! From the escargot to the shrimp with burgundysauce to the raspberry chicken, it's all delicious. It's essentially a French restaurant minus the cost and pretentiousattitude. The owner is Vietnamese and his wife trained in Paris is the chef. Couldn't ask for more!

I called the restaurant with a simple question and was treated poorly on the phone. It was a follow-up call regarding a 20-second question I had asked earlier. I had planned to order takeout after being informed they do not offer delivery, which I was okay with. Despite planning to spend over $100 at the restaurant, I was met with an attitude and told not to call back simply for inquiring about my options as a paying customer. It is disappointing to be treated this way, especially after having enjoyed dining there in the past. This experience was unlike any other in my many years of ordering food. Regardless of a bad day, kindness should always be a priority. Just a heads up, my call was made at 5:16pm today.

We visited Mother's Brunch. The menu may be limited, but we all managed to find something we enjoyed on it, so the small selection wasn't an issue. The blueberry muffins were particularly delicious.
