Daguan Noodle - Chicago

To start, I should mention that I've never tried Yunnan-style noodles or soup before. The atmosphere of the restaurant was clean and peaceful, and the staff were very accommodating. However, the beef soup I ordered was the blandest and most unappetizing dish I've ever encountered. I've never abandoned a meal early because of its poor quality, but this was so disappointing that I felt it wasn't worth taking up space in my stomach for what tasted like lettuce water in Chinatown.

The oxtail noodle was well seasoned. What stands out is the perfectly cooked rice noodles. My taste buds sang when these noodles touched my mouth.
