Bulldog Ale House State St. - Chicago

The Impossible burger was delicious! The White Dog beer was the perfect pairing and only $6 for a 32 oz. The waitress even allowed us to sample a few before making our final choice.

I am not sure why this restaurant is still listed on OpenTable. I booked a reservation for December 22nd, but when I arrived, they informed me that they do not accept reservations made through OpenTable. It seems that others have experienced the same issue based on other reviews. It is confusing why OpenTable is allowing reservations to be made at a restaurant that does not honor them.

I informed the hostess that I had a reservation, but the man at the front desk responded rudely saying, "We don't take reservations, what are you talking about? How many people are in your party?" I was confused because this was not the first time I had made a reservation using OpenTable.

Had a fun experience here. We ordered some beer. They have a decent selection on tap. We also ordered the jalapeño poppers at the recommendation of our server. They were awesome but beware they are super spicy. The bbq sandwich with coleslaw on it was delicious. I swapped the fries for a side salad which was quite substantial and fresh. Fun outdoor patio out front. There are a lot of TVs inside FYI. Everything was great but the place can be a little pricey. Nonetheless we would recommend this place.

So good! The appetizers are my favorite part of visiting here. Particularly the chicken tenders. They are “melt in your mouth juicy” on the inside, and crispy on the outside. The honey barbecue is also outstanding. From the Belgium chicken and waffles to the customizable pizza, and all the beers on draft—Bulldogs is a great place to grab a drink and enjoy some delicious American cuisine! Also, can’t forget about the wonderful and prompt service!
