Chetek Cafe And Meat Shop

I came here with my mom, my daughter (6 months) and myself. We were sat at a 3 person table to which the other spots said no seating. however, we had to make room for the high chair, so being courteous we moved the chair to the side of the table whereit slide in all the way so it was out of the way.... a waitress RUDELY walked by and grabbed the chair and said WE CANT SITPEOPLE HERE.. and proceeded to put it on the end of the table which also said no seating.... but the chair sat out all the way.Confused by this gesture.. we let it go.. We waited 15 minutes before we decided we 'd just have the buffet because we receivedno service. We ate our entire meal with still no service. As we were waiting for a bill the waitress FINALLY came over andasked if she 'd like us to take the plates.. Still not asking if we wanted drinks. We watched 4 tables come in AFTER us and getdrinks. As we sat there invisible. We also never received a bill.. we just left our table after another 15 minutes of waitingor so after we were done. We stopped by to pay and told the lady we didn 't have a ticket and explained the situation. albeit itwasn 't her fault. We just thought they should know. Food was ok. In short: We ate a meal we didn 't even want.... got nodrinks... didn 't receive a bill and was yelled at AND ignored. Will not be returning.

I stopped at the Chetek Cafe under the recommendation of a local friend. The service was great and the food was even better. I got the Bavarian steak breakfast which I was unable to finish due to the generous serving size(pictured below after I mixed upthe dish). If your in a hurry this isn't the place to go. But not do to a lack of service or slow kitchen staff but instead dueto how busy they are because the food is so dang good.

Delicious food and exceptional service make this place a true gem in Chetek! We enjoyed a fantastic lunch, featuring the best schnitzel I've ever tasted. Normally, I'm not a fan, but this was truly amazing! If you're looking for custom-cut meat, Norbert will personally take your order. I believe Norbert is the owner, as there's a photo frame of his hometown in Germany hanging on the wall. The German coffee was excellent, too. We left feeling stuffed and stocked up on tasty groceries for our camping trip. I can't wait to try the sausage patties for breakfast and the seasoned ribeye on the grill tomorrow. Thank you!

This place is an incredible find! I ordered the butcher's breakfast, and it was absolutely fantastic. The ribeye was perfectly seasoned, and the German hashbrowns, loaded with onions and green peppers, were outstanding. They offered a delicious cheese sauce that was generous in portion, plus a homemade recipe you can buy to take home, which complements just about any dish. The service was exceptional and very attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt warm and inviting. I only wish I had discovered this spot sooner, and to top it off, the prices are quite reasonable.
