フィードバックを提供するWe used to enjoy King Bo and its food, but our experience last night was disappointing. As restaurant owners and immigrants, my partner and I feel the lack of diversity and choice in restaurants in Nova Scotia, which is why King Bo was a favorite spot for us. While we can overlook certain things, such as a waiter not knowing about the restaurant's beer selection or wearing dirty boots, one thing we cannot forgive is a chef arguing with a guest. In my Vegetable Lo Mein, I found only a handful of sprouts and a few small pieces of red pepper, carrot, and green onion. In my opinion, a dish labeled "Vegetable" should contain more variety. When I brought this up to the waiter and showed her examples, she initially agreed to add more vegetables, but then said there would be an extra charge for it. The chef then argued with me, claiming that they had been serving the dish with minimal vegetables for the past 6 years and that most guests come for the noodles, not the vegetables. Despite his insistence, I could not accept their reasoning. Ultimately, we decided not to eat the dish, paid our bill, and left unsatisfied. We do not plan on returning to King Bo in the future. While we used to recommend it to friends, we will now advise against visiting the restaurant.
The food is mediocre, but the portion sizes are extremely small and the prices are much higher compared to nearby Chinese restaurants. Their combo options are unimpressive. I decided to give them another chance this week and ordered the lo mein and an egg roll. The lo mein was decent but came in a small portion, and the egg roll was empty inside. I was still hungry after my meal and ended up paying over $16. I believe it would be worth it to drive to Tantallon, Kentville, or Halifax for a better dining experience.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot for Chinese food in the area. We are always satisfied with our meals here. The prices are fair, the dishes are made with fresh ingredients and served in shareable portions, and the staff is consistently welcoming and happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies.
Closed since March for renovations. No sign of any work being done. Looks permanently closed.
Never open when it’s suppose to be, never picks up the phone. Over priced small portions under cooked vegetables.
