Imperial Garden - Cherwell

We have been using this Chinese takeout for the past year because our usual one became too expensive and started giving smaller portions. We always have our Chinese food delivered and we have never been disappointed. The delivery is always on time, the food is fresh and hot, and the delivery driver is always friendly. I have no complaints about this place. I do suspect that some of the reviews might be fake, especially those from users who have only written one review. In my opinion, this is definitely one of the best local takeout options.

I usually order from this restaurant every week. Lately, I've noticed that the portion sizes of the ribs are getting smaller and smaller. There seems to be more bone than meat! I've tried giving them the benefit of the doubt a few times, but I think it's probably time to find another Chinese restaurant that delivers.

I called ahead and made a reservation for pick-up later that evening. The customer service was excellent when I placed my order and during the delivery. Unfortunately, I had trouble booking online. The food itself was subpar and lacking in flavor.

Sadly we ordered a basic chicken ball dish with rice, chicken balls smelt of fish, and were very hard and the rice tasted like it had been in the fridge for far too long. I never complain, but as a regular customer of 4 years, I phoned up to explain, hoping they would put things right as I have ordered this dish many times. But no, because 'no one else had complained ' on this particular day, they weren 't prepared to entertain there may be a problem! That in itself is a warning. When the food is good, all is well, but when its poor don 't expect them to put it right.

My friend has been a chef in various countries for over 40 years and I'm a lover of Oriental cuisine and we love their food. I have a feeling that the negative reports may be from rival establishments. I'd suggest you order the meal and make your own mind up rather than be influenced by the naysayers, you won't regret it.
