My fiance, her kids, and I are doing some traveling from Oklahoma to Georgia and we are stopping at places that aren't chain restaurants. We came across June's to see what it's like. When you walk in, you can immediately tell it was a diner. The food was fantastic and in this economy, well priced. The pies were also delicious and all of us got one. Since we drive to Checotah area often, we will definitely come back here and highly recommend it.
First and last time going to June's. Drove an hour to meet my daughter and it looked like it had good reviews but I don't know who wrote those reviews because their food is horrible!! My wife's chicken fried steak was like shoe leather she couldn't even chew it and my club sandwich had no flavor whatsoever, it was like eating cardboard. My dad got a Patty melt and he said it was the worst one he'd ever had. The waitress never did ask us if we wanted something to drink, we had to ask her if we can get drinks after we had our food. And then she forgot to bring them. Also my dad is handicap they had no handicap parking in front no ramps to get in plus their bathrooms you had to go upstairs to get to them and he's in a wheelchair. I would have given them no stars if that was an option. P.S the onion rings were good.
Yum! We read all the reviews about the boneless fried chicken it did not disappoint. The mashed potatoes were also very good. Do not forget the pie for dessert!
Judy and I added another locally owned Diner to our list! They had our favorite Diner dish, Hamburger Steak with gravy and onions, mashed potatoes, a dinner salad and toast! Was quite delicious and the service was great too!
