Le Mouet - Châtel

We had spotted that the Alpage de Mouet was open this winter and decided to pay it a visit. You can get there on foot (snowshoes) or skis from the Barbossine piste (off piste with a bit of walking up hill). We were given a warm welcome and were well looked after. We ordered soup and omelettes and they were delivered quickly, hot and tasty. As we left we were offered a shot of the local digestif which was a nice touch and went down very well. Great position with beautiful views.

After a rather difficult start of hiking for us, we arrived at the cottage. an incredible view of the valley and the mountains. a very warm welcome, a simple but delicious kitchen. some specialties like berthoud and homemade white cheese.

Après une belle balade depuis Châtel, on apprécie la terrasse de ce petit paradis. Un accueil sympathique, des assiettes copieuses (omelette pour moi et berthoud pour ma compagne) accompagnées de desserts maison et un petit digestif de la vallée pour finir!
