フィードバックを提供するThis restaurant is a school to train boys that have lost their way. It is housed in a Chateau off the beaten track between Angouleme and Cognac. Booking is essential and the restaurant only opens Thursday to Saturday in term time. This is a shame because when the majority of visitors come to the Charente this restaurant is closed. When you book you are asked to select the menu for the whole table, everybody has the same. That is the bad news bits now for the good. The decor is good, ambiance great, service excellent and food exquisite. Last night we had foie gras served with a Sauternes wine, followed by fillet steak - one of the best I've ever tasted in France - with a pepper sauce and gratin potatoes. The cheese chariot followed with a very good selection of French cheese and for dessert we had mixed summer fruits. We chose a St Emillion red wine for the main course and cheese. This was fine dining and the menu only 30 Euros per person with the red wine 22 Euros a bottle. This restaurant is helping the young boys in their care and needs the support of diners. The reward to you is superb food!
