Recess - Charlotte

I visited on a Thursday night, which happens to be R&B night, and I highly recommend it! The DJ played a fantastic mix of old school and new school jams. The atmosphere was great, and the bartenders were friendly, serving delicious drinks. Plus, there's a free parking lot available, which is a huge bonus. The place was clean and well-maintained. I’ll definitely be returning, especially since they had the NBA playoffs on the TVs too!

Brunch is fantastic! The brunch flyers indicated they opened at 1 PM, but they weren't ready for customers until 1:30, and they closed right at 5 PM. Additionally, they ran out of several menu items (for instance, no waffles for the chicken and waffles) and didn't offer the specialty cocktails listed on their online menu. However, the quality of the food made up for the missing items. The shrimp basket, steak and eggs, and fries were all delicious!

I make it a tradition to book a table here for my birthday every year. The music is fantastic, the staff is friendly, and the customer service is exceptional. They truly show a lot of love to their patrons. The atmosphere is wonderful. I rate it 5 out of 5!

Very cute spot. Didn’t get a chance to eat there bcuz they stopped serving. But I’ll definitely be back again!

Great service and nice music. The fried chicken and waffles was good. The shrimp and grits...not so much. The shrimp were overcooked and the overall dish was unseasoned.
