Luca/Modern Italian Kitchen - Charlotte

The whole experience was wonderful. the decor is perfect, the service friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious! we ordered their famous calamari and it was not disappointed. the scallop entree was amazing. sad that this restaurant is closed.

We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant with fantastic decorations. The calamari was the best we have ever had. Although the lasagna was mediocre, everything else was fantastic.

Six of us went to Luca for the first time and we were all impressed. The restaurant had plenty of street parking available, which was a huge plus. The hostess was lovely and we were seated at a great table. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended a fantastic wine selection for us to try. The food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we all agreed that we would definitely come back to Luca in the future.

Brian was our service and was absolutely fantastic! He was super friendly and explained the menu and the special features in detail. It was our first time, but only heard they close! The Calamari were wonderful, so sad we will not be able to try this place again!

I regret to say that our experience at this restaurant was disappointing and we likely won't be returning. We had a reservation for 6 people at 7:45 on a Saturday night, but the place was empty, including the bar. One person in our group requested two types of vodka, including Grey Goose, but they were out of both. Another guest received a glass of wine that tasted sour, as if it had been opened for too long. Two members of our group ordered the prime rib, only to be told that there was only one left, forcing them to choose something else. The prime rib that did arrive was tough and difficult to cut or chew, even though it was cooked medium as requested. We felt sorry for our server who was clearly struggling to keep everyone happy, so we didn't bring up the issue at the time. In hindsight, we should have let her know, especially after paying $33 for the disappointing entree. Overall, this night out was a letdown due to these issues and the lackluster atmosphere. On a positive note, everything else we ordered was delicious, and our server was very kind and attentive.
