La'wan's Soul Food - Charlotte

The food was fresh and hot. My daughter enjoyed her chicken tenders fries and Mac n cheese. Her favorite was of course the strawberry cheesecake. We will definitely return!Food: 5/5

The food was tasty and $17.00 per dinner isn't too bad of a price. However, the portion size was quite small. One small piece of fish is not enough for an adult meal. A dinner of that size should not be priced at more than $10.00. Unfortunately, we will not be ordering from this restaurant again. I am not willing to spend $50 for two people on dinner and still be hungry.

THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEEEEESSSSSSTTTT RESTAURANTS I HAVE BEEN TO IN A WHILE. The team was extremely nice and friendly. I called them at 5pm and let them know about 20+ of us would be coming between 6p-7pm. 28 of us arrived and they were so accommodating. Nobody had an attitude and they seemed very happy to serve our family. We literally took over the place that night. The food did take a little long but we all ordered different items at different times and everything was FRESH. We had the catfish, fried chicken, shrimp, chicken strips, gizzards, whiting and the sides mac&cheese, potato salad. yams, fries ....ummmm ummm good. All the food was EXCELLENT!! All 28 of us had no complaints. It was a breath of fresh air walking into this restaurant. This dinner was a highlight to our entire trip. It was MARVELOUS!!! I will def go back the next time I am in Charlotte.

La'Wan's is amazing! Yesterday, I had the catfish, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, roll, and sweet tea. Everything was super delicious! And the sweet tea reminded me of my grandmother's wonderful sweet tea from years ago. Everybody there is super nice and professional. This place is definitely southern cooking at its finest and now I really want to go back and try other things on the menu as well!

Good food and friendly staff. I went for lunch and came back for dinner. I had the fried catfish and he had fried tilapia. We had cabbage, yams, collard greens and Mac and cheese. All were good. The greens are not from can.Food: 4/5
