Service was a little slow on the first day it opened but the place was packed. I've been waiting for a long time to find good barbeque in Charlotte. I've found a few other places that worked but I'm glad this one is here now. The pork is pulled pork but you can request that it come sliced or chopped. Back in Birmingham, BBQ is either chopped or sliced so it’s nice they are able to do that here too. The ribs were really good too. It’s the best spare ribs in Charlotte that I've found. The sauce is a vinegar and ketchup based sauce and it was really good. Not too sweet or vinegary but a nice even mix. The ribs had a great smoked taste. It came with a little bit of sauce already on there. Fries are fresh cut fries. The potato salad was awesome. If you get a chance, get a slice of chocolate pie too. It’s fantastic. Hopefully the service was speed up once the servers are better trained. Price wise, they are probably comparable to other BBQ joints in the area but taste a whole lot better.
Finally went to Jim N Nick's BBQ in Steele Creek this weekend and it was GREAT! I've been waiting because they are always packed, but I knew the food had to be good or they wouldn't be busy. I had the pulled pork and babyback ribs and they were both hot, fresh and had great smoke flavor. I also had cole slaw and mac and cheese (wow! ! The server helped me through the menu, my beer was cold and the little cheesy biscuits were incredible. (I took 2 home with me. I didn't have dessert because I was stuffed but the server told me they make their own pies every day. I will definitely go back soon!
This past weekend, I finally had the chance to try Jim N Nick's BBQ in Steele Creek, and it did not disappoint! I had been holding off on visiting because they are always so busy, but their popularity clearly indicates that the food is excellent. I ordered the pulled pork and baby back ribs, both of which were served hot, fresh, and bursting with a fantastic smoky flavor. I also sampled the coleslaw and mac and cheese—absolutely delicious! The server was very helpful in guiding me through the menu, my beer was served ice-cold, and those little cheesy cookies were out of this world (I ended up taking two home). I was too full for dessert, but my server mentioned that they make their own cakes daily. I can’t wait to go back soon!
While the food is excellent, the prices are too high for a family of five.
