Bocado Diner - Charlotte

Arrived for our reservation. Waited at the hostess stand for 10 minutes until we were sat. Waited another 15 minutes and never even saw a waiter.

Found this place walking through Charlotte's rail trail in the south end. I was just visiting town, so I was looking for a place that seemed inviting and had a nice bar to sit at. It didn't really serve that purpose. The drink I ordered was vodka and lemonade. The bartender recommended it, but it was pricey and nothing special. The service was slow. These days I make allowances for staffing, but I just had the feeling I was the lone guy at the bar who got forgotten about. I kept getting apologized to, but I also didn't say anything. The lamb meatballs with melted feta were actually pretty good. I didn't get any help with the menu from the staff, and I picked it out from Yelp. In summary, nice atmosphere in a trendy location. Food was pretty good. Not the drinks. Service was slow.

Service was horrible. They gave our table of 12 a brand new server and no one checked in on him once. Drinks and food took forever. Some never even got their food. Will not go back.

It was Mothers Day and they were surely busier than normal and with servers in short supply lately it’s no surprise wait times may be long. Two different people told us it was their first day. The food was good but the service was really slow and unorganized.

Service was terrible, wrong order, items on menu not available, check had wrong order and needed to be fixed
