フィードバックを提供するMy wife and I had a lovely experience at the Hillbrook Inn. The service was perfect and the value was amazing as well. We had dinner and breakfast (of course) at the inn, both of which were highlights for us. We hope to be back soon.
Me and my husband wanted to get away for a quiet weekend away from the kids. I came across Hillbrook through online search and it looked exactly what I wanted. I was trying to figure out the layout of the property to best plan spa time, dinner time etc. I have attached the map of their properties for a better understanding. Note: the off site properties are not within walking distance since you have to go back out to the main road. It didn't bother us at all but I could see some people not wanting to drive those main windy roads late. I splurged on the Sunset Suite at Farmhouse which was a beautiful room within a gorgeous little colonial house. I paid the $25 early check in (why not?! so we arrived at 1:30pm. The gas fireplace was not working which was disappointing because that was a reason I booked the room about but they did give me a $50 credit when my husband called. The spa was cute. We had a couples massage and it was okay. For the price I'd give the spa experience a 3 out of 5, def not bad, but def not something I'd write home about. We were really excited about dinner. Both of us worked in hospitality, so we appreciate good service and these days it's hard to find! The little tavern bar is nice while you wait to be seated. HOWEVER lucky us.. this happened to be the night the chef and manager get in a huge fight in the kitchen, chef walks out, kitchen is in chaos and let's just say our expensive dinner had to be boxed up along with dessert because it was 9:20 (we sat at 7:30 and still didn't have main course. We had a decanter of wine on the table so we were fine BUT this is not a late spot and by about 9p we were the only ones left except for one table leaving after getting bunch of things comped and lots of apologies. So we paid for 4 course dinners and we had tomato soup and appetizers. BTW if anyone from Hillbrook reads this, the waitress we had 8/30 did a fabulous job of trying to keep things together while we knew it was mayhem... and she was new! Boxed pasta wasn't really the experience I was looking for and of course we never even ate any of it BUT I was not complaining about anything on this trip. I didn't even want to look at the folio the next morning because I know it would get on my nerves and we had 2 more days at Bavarian Inn ahead of us. I just thought they would notice that we didn't get dinner and credit something. I mean the dining experience was supposed to be the focal point. This is a really cute relaxing getaway though.
My wife and I just spent two nights in the West Suite in the Hawthorn House for an anniversary weekend. Everything exceeded our expectations! The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the couples massage was the perfect ending to our stay. The location of the Inn was perfect for our hiking and biking plans in Harpers Ferry and on the C O Canal Towpath. The guest services team went above and beyond with their daily text messages and their call to see if we wanted an earlier dinner reservation. A special thank you to Emma, Blake, Cathy, Jessie, Katie and Deb who all made us feel very special with their excellent service. We highly recommend Hillbrook Inn Spa for your special getaway. Thanks!
My wife and I recently stayed at this beautiful Inn. We had the Fall cottage and found the accommodation superb. Very quiet and relaxing. The room was beautifully furnished and a short walk from the main house. All the staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to be courteous and helpful. The grounds are delightful and a pleasure to stroll around. Breakfast was wonderful, cooked to perfection, with a good variety of items to choose from. Dinner was equally delightful and served in the beautiful restaurant. The food was well prepared and delicious. The staff in the restaurant were professional yet charming all the ingredients for a delightful dining experience. The Hillbrook is definitely the place to go for a tranquil break with good food and excellent accommodation all in one place. We will be returning for another stay in the near future.
Great 25th anniversary. Trevor was a great waiter for dinner
