Sadie's Southern - Chapel Hill

I love this place. The pot roast, roasted chicken, deviled eggs and banana pudding are my favorites. My wife loves the chopped salad and tomato soup. Service is friendly and they seem to care for their customers. No, it's not the cheapest place around, but I'll never understand why people complain about paying a fair price for local, delicious food. If you want KFC or other fast food, you should go there with all means. I appreciate that my food didn't come as a frozen patch or a factory.

I am a southerner and know good southern food. My husband and I were thrilled on our first dinner at Sadie's with a delicious meal. The fried chicken, pot roast, and apple pie were outstanding, and the banana split was BEST EVER. We appreciated the friendly and kind of Ashleigh. We plan to return on frequent basis. My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the new Sadie's Southern for lunch today, and we were truly impressed by the entire experience. Our server was warm and attentive, which added to our enjoyment. The food was outstanding! We started with the mushroom soup, which was absolutely delicious. I'm not an expert on Southern fried chicken, but the version I had was the best I've tasted since moving to North Carolina, even better than what I've had at Mama Dips, which has a great reputation. My wife ordered the shrimp salad sandwich and really enjoyed it as well. I could write an entire review just about the amazing French Pommes—without a doubt, some of the best we've ever had in our 70 years. We will certainly be back for more! My only suggestion for the owners would be to create a website for the restaurant and establish a presence on TripAdvisor and possibly OpenTable, as it was a bit challenging to find information about the place. The chicken and gnocchi dumplings, along with the pot roast and potatoes, were flavorful and delightful. The pot roast was incredibly tender. The banana pudding was exceptional—definitely the highlight! The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable.

The food was fantastic! We tried the pot roast and the chopped salad, and both were absolutely delicious! I also highly recommend the Bacon Brussels sprouts!
