Golden Hawaiian Bbq - Chandler

During a recent phone order for 3 Teriyaki Bowls and 2 Teriyaki Plates, I asked for 5 sides of sauce. The cashier said I could only have 3 for free, even though I had been previously told I could only have 1. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told they were not available. Frustrated, I agreed to pay for the extra sauce, and the owner overheard and stepped in. Despite my disappointment, the owner sided with the cashier and agreed to provide only 2 extra sides of sauce. As I checked out, I showed the cashier a Yelp coupon for 10% off, which had never been appreciated in the past. As I was leaving, the cashier rudely told me not to come back. This entire experience was disheartening over something as simple as Teriyaki Sauce. I have never encountered such stinginess with sauce and it has greatly impacted my opinion of the restaurant. I used to recommend this place to others, but now I will not. Negative experiences like this are not what I want in my dining experience.

I was promptly greeted and served by the cashier. I ordered the laulau and kalua pork plate to go. The laulau seemed to be microwaved as I could hear it while waiting, reminding me of frozen laulau from an Asian store. Although it tasted good, I had hoped it would be homemade. The kalua pork was overcooked and heavily seasoned with liquid smoke. The rice was tasty and the Mac salad was decent. The dining area was clean but had a faint sewage odor.

The chicken and beef combo main dish is tasty, but the teriyaki chicken musubi is fantastic. Overall food rating: 4/5.

If I could give this place a minus 0 I would. The girl at the counter was SUPER rude,she barely greeted us as we walked in. The food was AWEFUL,the meat was probably old,and the mac was very dried. But the worst part I would say is that it is very dirty,especially the soda machine. They should do some kind heath inspection on this place.Also, for the people that giving this place a 4 or more......STOP commenting on your own business.

I use to consider places like this to be a hole in the wall. It's small it's empty and it's a delicious places ... but like this used to be good for cost of food ratio. Now it's the same price as going to cheesecake factory.
