Ridgee Didge Cafe - Cedar Vale

I have been to Bar Du Centre during the week of the 24 Hours race.

Great food and an awesome selection for the gluten free community. Take away or dine in - the food came fast and was delicious. And big serves! Value for money for sure!

Great pit stop on the way to Longreach. All treats and eats looked delicious and coffee a welcome addition. Can recommend the vanilla slice, a big tasy serve.

We visited Barcaldine for a day while staying in Longreach. Main purpose was the tree of knowledge and the workers centre. Half way through the workers centre we stopped for lunch (so much to see and they happily let us exit/re-enter). Found this cafe around the corner and it was just fantastic. The food was great (burgers) but the real highlight was the conversations with the staff. It had been raining and we were pondering when the roads to the dinosaurs in Winton would reopen -- the lady waiting on us stepped in and helped us out with some local knowledge, and then got some models of the dinosaurs to show the kids and explained what hey would see when we got there. She also lent us a book on dinosaurs to look at. She kept the kids spirits up and reassured us we would have a great time. It was a big boost to morale among tall the mud!! I only wish we got her name as she was fantastic.
