We found this restaurant on the main road with all the tourist places, but noticed some local group having a large dinner and decided it looked authentic. We ate 2 plates and enjoyed a caffe after. I would recommend the swordfish gnocchi!
We went there following the recommendation of the reception desk of our hotel without any reservation. The place is located on the main walking tourist street of the town. Seating is nice and that is all. The food looks and tastes like being made of frozen ingredients. Many positions of the menu are not available: raw fish plater in the seafood restaurant, catch of the day fish absent. I ordered Pasta with red mullet and the meal i received was like prepared from Kitty cat tin with tomato sauce addition. Waiters are not friendly to foreigners but gladly chatting with the walking by locals.
We were originally recommended this restaurant independently by 2 locals and have eaten here seven or eight times over the last 2 years....We have never had anything but superb food and excellent service. My husband says the fish is wonderful and as I 'm a vegetarian I concentrate on the cortoni , try the Zucchini trifoliate it is fabulous. Also the location is great if you sit on the terrace, there is a buzz in this lovely town. We 've booked again for a couple of weeks time.
Fortemente consigliato dai locali soprattuto per le portate di pesce , abbiamo provato. Ingresso senza saluto, appena l 'indicazione di dove si trova il ns. tavolo. L 'ambiente é spartano, da trattoria, due grandi ambienti, molto poco intimi...E ' la festa della donna, ma sul nostro tavolo una candelina in vetro rimarrà spenta per tutta la sera, il cameriere voce alta come se parlasse a qualcuno in fondo alla sala, mani sporche e per niente curate non l 'accenderà. Il menu, per niente esaustivo, molto limitato e con le portate di carne e pesce tutte mescolate. Ordiniamo due primi; uno di terra ravioli ricotta e spinaci con ragù di cinghale , buone le materie prime, pessimo l 'assemblaggio...asciuttissimi, non si riesce nemmeno a finirli. Quello di mare gnocchi con sugo di pesce privi di sapore, davvero. L 'unico secondo che abbiamo avuto il coraggio di chiedere abbandonata l 'idea del buon ristorante , una bistecca alla griglia. Buona la carne, ben cotta, ma spropositato il prezzo per la quantità. Il contorno, una patata lessa fatta a fette al costo esorbitante di 5€. Evitiamo i dessert, che sbirciando nei tavoli molto vicini confermano la nostra ipotesi. Al cucchiaio scaldati al microonde, panna spray, assemblaggio tirato via e carissimi, 8€ ciascuno . Chiediamo il conto, che risulta essere esageratamente sproporzionato al servizio ed alla qualità €64 . Il gestore non ci offre nulla al saluto, che però in uscita ci concede. SCONSIGLIATISSIMO..!!! Being highly recommended by locals specially for fish courses , we tried.No greetings upon arrival, just an indication of where our table was. The ambience is rather plain, trattoria-like , two large rooms, not at all intimate ... It 's Women 's Day and on our table there 's a a simple candle in a glass candle-holder, which the waiter loud , as if speaking to someone at the other end of the room, dirty hands did not light up during the entire dinner. The menu, by no means exhaustive, presented a very limited choice of meat and fish dishes all randomly organized. We ordered two first courses, one is spinach and ricotta ravioli with wild boar bolognaise sauce, good ingredients, but poorly put together ... the ravioli were so dry we could not even finish them . The other first course was dumplings with fish sauce with absolutely no flavour. The only second course we had the courage to order was a steak . Good meat, well cooked, but the price was outrageous for the quantity. The side dish, a single boiled potato cut into slices for the exorbitant price of € 5. We avoided ordering desserts, which clancing at the tables of other guests sitting very close indeed could only confirm our hypothesis: microwaved, spray cream, very poorly laid out 8€, any of them . We asked for the bill, which turned out to be definitely disproportionate to service and quality 64€ . When leaving, the owner does not offer a single shot rather common here in Italy , but at least says good bye . DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED .. !
We arrived in this restaurant due to the fact that a restaurant we booked, was overbooked! Romolo had some free spots, inside! The climate was perfect! We wanted to share a starter, crostini, but they only had 'fegato ' (liver). Warm liver on toast! Brr! We did send it back to the kitchen. Maincourse steak with peppersauce. That was OK! No athmospere no kind waiters! Wine was ok! Total price was ok! Wine was 1/3 of total. We didn 't pay for the liver!
