My husband and I went from O Goivo when we saw the cook prepare chicken on the outside grill and immediately knew we had to sit for lunch. While we do not speak Portuguese, we could understand from the manager that the chicken would be ready about 30 minutes later, so after a small walk we were greeted for one of the best meals we had ever had in Portugal. A purely authentic local restaurant without a set menu that has blown us away. We're coming back to this town, just for the chicken. Thank you for a great meal and friendly hospitality!

My wife and I came to the restaurant this afternoon and said the restaurant was closed. We asked the barman if he would open and he answered, “jantar” we asked three times when the dinner began. “As que horas vocês serving jantar?” When do you serve dinner? The Barman wouldn't tell us. We left....we will never go back and would not return the Goivo to anyone who wants to be treated politely. To the manager. This happened at 5 pm on Tuesday, 28 April.

We were on our honeymoon and wanted to see and eat this place. We went in and wanted to ask if we could order. we will not speak Portuguese so we asked IN Portuguese if sb speaks English.
