Andale - Cartagena

The look, feel and cost all seemed very genuine, but, although the food was OK, it was neither memorable nor particularly Mexican. The place was empty when we arrived, but the staff still seemed to have some trouble preparing the meals with any dispatch, perhaps because the cook was having a sneaky cigarette at the back door with friends! The place does not accept credit cards OK, except that I was directed to a street about 300 metres away, when there was a perfectly serviceable ATM about a minute's walk from the restaurant......

After a hike to get there, the staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous. More than we could eat! The taste was awesome. Would defiantly recommend a visit.

We were looking forward to eating here but we're very disappointed when we finally got around to trying it.we had the nachos with cheese to share as a starter...ok but no chilli heat and a bit sloppy. For mains I had the chicken chimichanga, large but a bit boring my wife had the chilli con carne which she said was disgusting and it looked it too. Staff were a bit flustered and not very helpful.. Lack of taste was the main problem.. Mexican should have heat this was way too mild .. Would not recommended!

We take nachos with 5 cheeses and beef burritos....really good and tasty. Recommend to go and test your self

We messaged the restaurant on Facebook and were told it opened at 8pm. We arrived at 8.15pm and the waiters were just arriving so we walked around the block and returned 10 minutes later to be told that the kitchen wasn’t ready and could we go for a walk for 20 minutes. We suggested we sit and have a drink as we weren’t in a particular hurry to eat but we were very hot and tired. We had some nachos and guacamole to share which was pleasant. For a main I had a vegan taco which was incredibly greasy leaving a puddle of oil on the plate. I tried to squeeze the oil out of the vegetables but in the end I gave up and left most of the meal. A small pot of chilli salsa was the only nod to any Mexican flavour in the dish. My partner’s meal, a veggie chilaquiles, came with a pile of melted cheese which added additional grease to the plate. Again, there was no Mexican flavouring and the dish was left mostly untouched. When the waitress asked if the food was good we had to tell her that it really wasn’t- No effort was made to establish the problem with the food and we left feeling queasy and disappointed.
