Salumeria Luca - Carmel-by-the-Sea

Great small place with fantastic food and wonderful service!!! Menu was small as it should be, the food was carefully designed and the presentation was fantastic. Attention to insurgent service and cannelloni for desert. Wonderful place and will visit again!

From start to finish, it was a disappointing dining experience. We arrived for our reservation and were initially taken to a table in the back that was still occupied by another party. After about 10 minutes, we were finally seated at a high-top table by the window. It took over an hour for us to receive our salad and a soggy pizza that fell apart when we tried to serve it. Our waitress seemed either overwhelmed or indifferent, as she barely attended to our needs. Overall, the food and service were overpriced for the quality we received.

I have seen some less than stellar reviews posted, but all I can say is that from the beginning to the end, food in Cantinetta Luca provided a beautiful culinary experience. The personalized service and excellent authentic Italian cuisine are unequal. Great restaurant.

The food was enjoyable, but the service was quite slow. However, when we received our bill, we were shocked to find a $40 charge for tap water. They never informed us that water wasn't complimentary, nor did they mention that refills would incur an extra cost. The bottles didn’t display any branding or indicate that they were worth $7 each. Overall, it left a very bad impression. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend it unless you're willing to spend a lot on tap water.

This restaurant is excellent! We managed to get a table without a reservation, and the hostess was very friendly. We ordered pizza and ravioli, and the pizza dough was fantastic! The tomato sauce had a bit of a kick, which was a little spicy for my liking, but it was still good overall. The ravioli were amazing, and the tiramisu was one of the best I've ever had! If you find yourself in Carmel, be sure to visit this place!
