Brophy's Tavern - Carmel-by-the-Sea

The food, drinks, and service were outstanding! We were looking for a casual pub meal and were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The pretzel is a must-try—it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Tavern Burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had!

Charming pub located within the Hotel Carmel. The food was absolutely delicious! Devin and the entire service team were fantastic. We decided to cancel our reservation at the Marriott in Monterey to stay at the Hotel Carmel because of the wonderful experience we had here.

The food and the service at Brophy’s did not disappoint. First we had the pretzel, it was a perfect app to share with my husband. The pretzel was cooked perfectly. They give you two sauces with the pretzel, one was a sauerkraut mustard which was delicious (and I don’t normally like sauerkraut) and they also give you a chive cream cheese dip.. it was a great balance. I got the cheese burger for my meal. Their beef is from Harrison Ranch and their brioche buns are from a local bakery. It was messy but it was super flavorful, probably one of my favorite burgers. The French fries were the perfect texture and were well seasoned. Ashia was our server and she was super friendly and very knowledgeable of their menu and history of their business. Overall great experience!

This place is really nice. Really well cooked pretzels. (Just missing the hot cheese) But this place closes early for a bar though, so go early, even on a holiday weekend.

I can't comprehend how this place has such a high rating! What am I overlooking? The food is tasteless; the chicken sandwich is just bread with the thinnest chicken cutlet I’ve ever seen. All you can taste is bread! (Photo attached) Carmel is home to some of the best restaurants in the country, so I recommend steering clear of this one to save your time and money.
