City Barbeque (carmel)

I decided I was in the mood for City BBQ for dinner tonight because I have always enjoyed the food from City BBQ. As always, it did not disappoint me at all. I ordered the pulled Chicken with Provolone cheese, no bun, with a side of potato salad and hush puppies. It was excellent and my perfect comfort food for the evening. City BBQ provides excellent BBQ and sauces, plus they know how to prepare barbecue to perfection! Their customer service is always on point and they treat everyone that comes through the door with kindness and care. This is my #1 go to place for barbecue whenever I am in the mood for BBQ for dinner because it is just prepared with such love and generosity to your taste buds. You will never go wrong with City Barbecue, so go out and get some BBQ from them one night for dinner. It is worth it!

Never get orders straight. Always running out of ribs early. Once again, 6:30 on a weeknight and they're out of ribs??? This place is really is poorly managed.

I ordered take out, I got hot chicken tenders, a leg/thigh, mac cheese, hush puppies, slaw banana pudding. The hot chicken tenders weren't very spicy but did have a kick to them, I was pleasantly surprised by how juicy and crunchy it was. We thought the leg/thigh was also pretty excellent! My only issue with them was that they are a bit salty. Mac cheese was very cheesy, which I loved, and the hush puppies were amazing!!! The slaw was less than average, it was very watery and didn't really have any flavor to it. The banana pudding was okay too, I wasn't overwhelmed with flavors, and it wasn't too sweet which I liked. Lastly, I wish they had a better system for how they package everything up, I ended up with bbq sauce all over my bag.

I can't believe that I haven't reviewed City Barbecue yet, as I stop by here on a fairly regular basis. Prior to COVID, I had dined inside but during COVID I have taken advantage of their excellent curbside carry out. Service is always great and the food is excellent. City BBQ is perfect whether I am picking up a quick lunch for myself or ordering for a large group. My favorite lunch order is the three sides plate. Their sides are all so delicious that I have trouble deciding which ones to choose. Home style potato salad, green beans, corn casserole, slaw, and many more all taste like they came out of my grandmother's kitchen. The French fries are served hot and fresh and are some of my favorite fries. Try dipping them in BBQ sauce.

The ribs (if they aren't out of them are dry. The brisket is dry and flavorless. the service is spotty to poor. Just got home (didn't check my order, big mistake. and half my order was missing. This is NOT a real BBQ joint either. Go to Big Hoffa's instead. Waaay better.
