We decided to try this restaurant based on the reputation of good value for money. When we arrived, we were seated promptly and left to enjoy our meal. The food was tasty, but we wished there had been more variety, possibly due to it being lunchtime. The service was efficient, almost too quick as the tables were not thoroughly cleaned before we sat down, leaving them sticky. Additionally, the staff were quick to clear away our utensils as soon as we finished a dish. Despite these minor issues, the all-you-can-eat option was a good deal and the free parking was a nice perk. Overall, it was a decent value for what we paid.
We decided to dine at this restaurant after finding out the neighboring restaurant had a 40-minute wait for food, and we were very pleased with our decision! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The food is served buffet-style and there was plenty to choose from. The menu catered to all tastes, with a great selection of vegetarian dishes available. All the dishes were kept hot and tasted fresh. In addition to the main courses, there was a salad bar and a section with basics like chips. The dessert section was fantastic, offering a variety of fruit, ice cream, cake, and a delightful toffee pineapple. We would definitely return, especially for the evening buffet which offers a wider selection of dishes for a slightly higher price per person.
Most of the food tasted old and reused from a left over, not tasty but just to fill the buffet counters, will not go again
Visited the oriental garden while staying Cardiff last year. Whilst walking through the red dragon centre on our way to the Bay, we made the mistake of deciding to eat at the Oriental Garden, due to the poor weather. From the moment we sat down it became apparent the place was not the cleanest. the tables were sticky and general hygiene was not great. Should we have got up and gone elsewhere? YES The side dishes were dry and appeared to have been out for some, and were simply tasteless. The dishes were generally topped up relatively quickly, but it was a case of quantity rather than quality! My other half and son barely ate anything, simply mocking the food and my poor choice of restaurant. My son, who is a lover of all things chocolate decided to take the plunge and try the chocolate fountain. He was less than impressed, and I have to agree, the chocolate had a rather funny taste to it. Needless to say, he barely touched it. When at the counter paying my wife asked the lady at the til (who I believe is the manager) what their hygiene rating was? The rather rude lady pointed to a sign, which displayed a hygiene rating of four. How they managed this I will never know! The lady asked my wife rather rudely, why she was asking, to which my wife commented that it 's disgusting in here . We left the restaurant with the til lady, being rude and abrupt, which pretty much summed up our experience. On checking my receipt as we left the restaurant, we had even been overcharged by around £3 for the displeasure of eating there. I just couldn 't be bothered to set foot back in the place to ask for my refund. Will we eat there again? Never; we should have carried on walking to the Bay, where the food would have been of better quality and not much more expensive.
