El Pollo Rico - Carbondale

This was probably one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Some dishes were alright, but the seafood was undercooked. The salsa tasted like BBQ sauce. The service was beyond terrible - nothing came out at the same time and it took an incredibly long time for our food to arrive. When we told our waitress that the food didn't taste right, she just walked away and refused to speak to us for the rest of the night. Another waitress had to come to our table to help us. The second waitress was much better and took one of the dishes off the bill. We will not be returning to this restaurant again. It used to be good, but we were extremely disappointed and will not be back.

It appeared that they were understaffed, but the food was fantastic!

In terms of Mexican restaurants, the food here is decent. The steak fajitas had great flavor and the cheese dip (not queso!) was delicious. However, the service was lacking. We had to navigate around a man sitting at a large table right by the front door. Despite it not being very busy, we felt neglected by our waitress and like an afterthought.

This restaurant has the best grilled dishes for only $12.50 for a half-portion.
