The Cassowary - Cape Tribulation

CLOSED - DO NOT BOOK! Despite receiving a confirmation email just a week before our arrival, the restaurant was closed and appeared to have been so for quite some time. The least they could have done was inform us!

Disappointing experience. It took over an hour for our food to be served. The table next to us was informed that there was no food left after waiting for an hour for their meal. The two staff members on duty were doing their best, but it was evident that there were significant issues in the kitchen. My curry consisted of just four tiny pieces of chicken floating in an overly spiced soup, and the aglio olio spaghetti seemed to lack any garlic. Additionally, we were not provided with cutlery when our meals arrived, as the staff were busy attending to other diners. We ended up serving ourselves from the kitchen counter. Many diners were clearly unhappy. Interestingly, the restaurant was closed for the next two nights. I would recommend checking whether the restaurant has food and a chef available before visiting. I hope they can get organized soon!

Just a very nice restaurant, Great friendly staff and an amazing value for money dinner. Also thank you for remembering we had been married for 40 years as I’d forgotten I’d mentioned it

Decent food with an grossly overpriced wine list. Service was very inattentive even with only 12 people in the restaurant. Nothing more annoying when the staff are more interested in chatting than serving.

A beautiful relaxed setting. Service was really professional and the food was delicious and came out quickly. Highly recommend
