Aces 'n Spades - Cape Town

This is a large, vibrant venue that offers a variety of entertainment depending on the day of the week. It has the atmosphere of a bustling supermarket, combined with great service. The management effectively resolved an issue with theft right away, thanks to the prompt assistance from security personnel. The interior is perfect for dancing, with plenty of space to stand and socialize with friends, and there are designated smoking areas both inside and outside. The only downside is the occasional petty crime, which is unfortunately common throughout Cape Town. However, if you're visiting Cape Town, this place should definitely be a part of your itinerary.

This restaurant is a lovely spot to relax when the city heat becomes overwhelming. I highly recommend trying their excellent tap beer, particularly the standard lager, if you’re unsure of what to order. The beer is truly great! A 330 ml Hahn goes for about R35.00, which is typical for the city. They also offer some fantastic pizza specials. The ambiance, especially in terms of decor, is really nice. Overall, it’s a wonderful experience. By the way, they’re located in the old YMCA building.

If you're into live local music, you're in luck—they host performances every Friday night with two bands! Doors open at 8:00 PM (check their website for the latest timings). And don't miss out on their rock karaoke on Wednesday nights. Plus, I should mention—there's no cover charge!

R.I.P. Aces'n Spades. Corona : Another of my favorite Cap Town spots has been very sadly closed! We had so many brilliant nights there with great bands and people. The whole style was great.
