フィードバックを提供するWe had our 60 person wedding at The Sensory in August 2023. From the very beginning, Terry was incredibly nice and easy to work with. We could tell he had lots of experience running weddings and we were able to trust him with lots of small details (e.g., place settings, table set up, etc. and the team executed them wonderfully. We chose The Sensory as our wedding venue because we love food and wanted a fine dining experience for our guests, and because the restaurant's atmosphere is chic, modern, and accentuates the beauty of Canmore and the mountains. It did not disappoint the food was outstanding and it looked so beautiful. Chef Tyler helped us create our own menu, listening to our preferences, and being creative with the options. There was ample space for dancing, and the bar on the patio was the prettiest place to get a drink. Thank you to the whole team at The Sensory for making our wedding day the best it could be!
Had the chef’s 3 course ‘Trust Me Journey’ all in all the food experience was very underwhelming from a first course of dry tasteless deep fried quail that I struggled to cut even with a steak knife take two bites of deep fried tasteless rice they called rice cakes, a tasteless salmon dry roasted potatoes main course (there were still scales on the salmon skin), etc. I won’t return don’t recommend. The servers could’ve been dressed a bit smarter too for the kind of restaurant it’s branded as.That said, the host was very personable in the minute or two she took to sit me down at my table.
The views were lovely. The staff was kind attentive and welcoming. The food was okay but overpriced for what it is. The cocktails were good. The Ahi tuna was quite tasty but the chicken with masala sauce would have been much better at a hometown Indian restaurant and the burger we had at the pub was twice as good as the one we shared here (for half the price). Unfortunately places with lovely views can uncharge the heck out of tourists for less than exceptional cuisine. If you’re looking for the best restaurant in Canmore, keep looking!
Not very good food and very slow service. We did the chef’s tasting menu and honestly it was a disappointment. The courses are interesting in a not very tasty way. The lamb tasted fishy and not well seasoned. The duck was tough to chew and also not well seasoned. We complained about the duck and appreciated that they took it off the bill. The three course meal took 2 hours with most of the time waiting for the next dish to come. We were not particularly in a rush but felt like it’d be a waste of time to wait for dessert to come.
Food was very good, drinks were the best we had during our week in Banff. Service is on point but the atmosphere is the real star. Fantastic views of the three sisters during sunset. Wish there was more highlighting of local ingredients but otherwise no complaints for an overall tasty dinner.
