Gateway Grille - Canandaigua

Best diner for breakfast! Had our first meal there this past weekend. The best diner breakfast food we've had in a long time. Definitely will be coming back. Give them a try!

I must say the breakfast itself was pretty good. Had eggs with toast and delicious home fries (add sausage for husband). The staff was friendly. What I can?t understand is that they have TWO entrances: one in front, one in back. So you?ve got two groups of people waiting to be seated. I could see they were run off their feet. One guy (I?m guessing new) was walking by tables without taking dirty plates on the way back with him. It seemed as if the staff didn?t necessarily have dedicated tables (we had 3 people wait on us). Again: friendly, crazy busy, but frantic and disorganized. Understaffed in kitchen? More wait staff needed? Maybe the guy wondering around should be in charge of coffee/water making, table bussing, table setting? Maybe only have one entrance?

I travel twice a year to Canandaigua and a part of the reason is for the place. The service is always great and the food is incredible.. I recommend this place to everyone.

We had a wonderful lunch in a comfortable atmosphere. The service was great as was the food. We will come back. So nice to have a place like this on Main St.
