The food is decent, but the service is unfriendly. The staff could benefit from retraining and should not be working here, especially when serving customers who are here for cancer treatment. It is important to have a friendly and compassionate attitude when working in customer service.
I visited the Café recently and found the food and coffee to be delicious. However, I was disappointed by the overall service from the staff. An older woman and her daughter, who was wearing a cancer scarf, were not shown much compassion. Instead, they were met with smiles and mumbling when asking for assistance. It is important for the staff to remember that many customers may be going through difficult times and should be treated with empathy.
As a patient for an operation, scans etc., it is a nice corner to feel that they are in a sydney street caffe instead of a cancer hospital. the menu is limited, but a beautiful cup coffee served by smiling faces. Thank you.
I am so grateful that this facility is available to patients undergoing cancer treatment. My niece is thriving and enjoys her visits because of this place. A few tips I would note is regarding parking - do not park at Life Of Brian carpark as it is private and they charge high fees. Instead, park at RPA and get a concession from the reception to pay a $5 all-day fee. The kitchen facilities are good and the cafe offers decent food, but since you are in Newtown, there are plenty of other options available. You can also sleep on loungers in the same room as the patient you are visiting, with decent blankets and pillows provided. They also have a wig library, reflexology, and other services for patients.
