You must stop here when you visit Tasmania! Smiths speciality pie is the place to try scallop pies! Delicious and tasty! Very generous with the scallops in the pie. The Cambridge shop even has seats in front of the shop to enjoy the pies. There are a variety of other pies available too! But I love the scallop pies the best! No sauce! Just the pie!

I went to Salamanca market and got to try their scallop pie. It's the best pie ever! I'm not a pie person but as it was the first time I heard of a scallop pie, I gave it a try. The filling has curry and scallop flavor. So good! I'll definitely come back for more!

These are the best scallop pies in Tasmania. Everytime I am in Tassie I make sure I go to Salamanca markets just to buy a Smiths Scallop Pie. I have just discovered I can get them from Cambridge so now won't have to wait for Saturday. They are full of scallops and the taste is great. Cant get better. I have tried several other suppliers scallop pies , which are nice, but really don't compare to the taste and quality of Smiths.

I went to Salamanca Market yesterday morning. As usual, I bought a curried scallop pie from the Smith 's pie van for breakfast. I walked away and started eating. The curry sauce was rather dry and brown in colour (usually semi fluid and yellow) and didn 't taste like curry. The scallops were brown all the way through, dry, tough and stringy. The base of the pie was the texture of weetbix and even darker in colour. For $8.00 I expected something edible, not garbage. I took it back only to receive thanks for bringing it back from the young female server. No apology, no replacement and no refund offered. NEVER AGAIN. Cardboard is more appealing.
