This restaurant is fantastic, offering a wide variety of organic and sustainable food options and products. However, it seems to be a hidden gem, as word of mouth is the only way people seem to hear about it. It truly is a treasure in the King's Hedges area.
This health food shop is awesome. Not ideally situated, but has its own small car park which is never full. They sell a large range of vegan and organic food, household items and gifts, including quite a selection of baby items. The staff will always help you if an item you're looking for is not out on the shelves. They sell some pretty obscure vegan items but also your typical health food fare, for example herbs and spices, milk alternatives and dried fruit.
Daily Bread is a hidden gem of a whole food and vegetable shop in King’s Hedges. They offer a wide range of products including organic, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and options for those with intolerances or allergies. The shop is ethical and focuses on giving back to charitable causes. They provide work opportunities for people with mental health problems or other impediments, allowing them to gain valuable work experience. The friendly workers pack products themselves using compostable packaging, with green labels for organic items and yellow labels for non-organic. Daily Bread offers dried foods, nuts, fruits, seeds, spices, loose teas, and a variety of household products. They also take special size orders in advance and offer bulk discounts. During the holiday season, they have Christmas cake packs available, including vegan and gluten-free options. All fruits and vegetables are organic, and they also offer a variety of prepackaged vegan products. Fresh bread is delivered daily by a local bakery, and they have a selection of vegan cheeses, frozen foods, and a refill station for dry food products and household items. The coffee shop serves warm and cold drinks, cakes, and snacks. A nearby park is perfect for picnics, and they have a pay-it-forward coffee scheme. Daily Bread also has a great selection of greeting cards, including donation cards, and many are packaging-free. Overall, I am glad to have this wonderful shop nearby and have continued to support them through the pandemic.
Great shop for all their vegan needs. most articles are prepacked. according to their website, they use a site biodegradable packaging (i.e. not the usual industrially compostable items) that is better than many places, but it would be nice to see more packaging-free items. they also store many items in the manufacturer packaging. I was glad that they had a refilling station, but with its size/variant was disappointed (can be dry objects and wet objects as a whole). Hopefully it will be bigger! sorts of products, in particular different types of dried beans, lenses, etc. some products on camp seemed to be of great vegan brands (e.g. heifer), while others looked like smaller/unfamiliar brands. also ideal for vegan care products and household products. the caffe is small and has vegan cake available. this daily Bread location is smaller than its northampton pendant, but it is still well equipped with more than just essential. updated from previous review to
