Okami - Camberwell

Terrible service, frozen food and rude staff! The waiters were repeatedly very rude. They only took our ‘all you can eat’ order at the beginning and did not come back. The meals were recognisably reheated common frozen foods (supermarket dumplings and portions were strange (three sushi pieces to share between two?? We were told a meal was vegan by the waiter and after biting into it realised it had beef in it. All dishes were pretty flavourless. One of the items we ordered never arrived and no member of staff ever came back to mention it to. Paying was very difficult as staff were quite non-responsive and it felt as though they were accusing us of having wine/dessert we did not have/order. Bathrooms were also very dirty.

The food is good but the staff are so rude! They check your plate to see if you eat the whole sushi or not and will ask you to eat the rice! My friend was on a keto diet and couldn't eat rice! Also we were 6 people and we ordered 3 sushi platter, they gave us only two and they told us you need to finish the first two and then order the 3rd one!

Well recommended when catching up with a group of friends, family or one on one. Service is quick, staff are friendly, serve size is generous and to the quality of food! Make sure you are hungry as the choices are abundant. The black sesame ice cream is always my choice for dessert as sweets are somewhat limited. Possibly add one or two more will make it a for me. Overall, I do go back.

Enjoyed the food especially the beef carpaccio, miso steak the eggplant salad. But pretty much all the dishes were lovely. Only exception the shumai which was rather gluey sad. Nice ambience too. One just orders the dishes off the menu as required for one fixed price. The service is very patchy though had to actually go up to the desk to get someone to come take our orders after the first round. The wait staff seem to have perfected the art of not noticing the guests or making eye contact. The only exception seemed to be one person who was at the till. This despite there being only 3 small tables occupied in the front area where we were seated. Would come back hoping for better service next time.
