The Bistro - Camarillo

I feel compelled to share how poorly my family was treated during this situation and how it reflects on the establishment's customer service. I am appalled by the disrespect shown to my father, particularly given how much business our family has brought to this restaurant over the years. As I would tell a child, there are far more constructive ways to handle disputes. It's astonishing how someone could take offense and then proceed to insult a long-time customer who has always considered them like family. I’m disheartened and want to inform others about the management and their treatment of customers, both new and loyal. The owner displayed a shocking level of disrespect toward my father, making derogatory remarks that were completely uncalled for. While I usually refrain from stooping to that level, it's crucial to shed light on this incident. Overall, the service has declined significantly, and the food, which used to be decent, is now subpar. The waiter, who bragged about having 20 years of experience, could certainly improve his customer service skills. It’s unfortunate that someone can perform so poorly yet still remain employed here. In conclusion, we will not be returning to this restaurant, and I hope this review helps others be aware of what to expect. It’s strange that the prices have increased while the quality of food has diminished. Best of luck to anyone who decides to dine here!

As for the food, the steak lacked flavor and was not cooked to the medium-rare temperature we requested. The brie and garlic appetizer was unimpressive, while the Chilean sea bass was just okay. The lamb was good, but the portions were small. The heirloom tomato salad was decent and had a fair amount of burrata cheese, so at least there was something enjoyable. Overall, we have had much better experiences in terms of food, service, and drinks at Adolfo Grill in Camarillo. We were hopeful about trying this place but ended up feeling disappointed.

I ordered the lobster ravioli, which was just okay — I could have done without it being overly sauced. My boyfriend had the salmon, and that was quite good; I snagged a bite and enjoyed it. The pink clam chowder was also tasty and was something I had read about in previous reviews. The service was great, but I'm left feeling unsure if this is a place I would want to revisit or recommend.
