Subway - California

First time a subway worker asked me for a tip, to make my sandwich in store. We at the point where grocery baggers, are about to ask for tips. I 'm like tip? Umm extra cheese please? USA tip culture getting crazy. Tips is for great service, Subwaymaking a sandwich is a base function. What kind of tip should you give to someone just making a sandwich? Should I have askedto walk behind the counter and make it myself? Feels like panhandling.

I'm quite pleased with this location, although some others haven't met my expectations. There's definitely a need for better training in cleanliness. For example, it's concerning when employees take out the trash or mop the floor and then put on gloves without washing their hands first. I've felt compelled to leave because of this. When an employee asks if they can help me, I've pointed out that they haven't washed their hands, and their response is, "I'm wearing gloves, my hands aren't touching your bread." It's quite alarming!

For instance, I observed employees handling garbage or mopping the floor while wearing gloves, and then not washing their hands afterward. During my visit, I felt compelled to leave because one employee responded to my request for them to wash their hands with, "I have gloves on, my hands didn't touch your bread." This was quite concerning. Overall, I hope they can improve in this area.

The manager, Ashley, was extremely kind, helpful, and patient with me and my son. She took the time to assist us, despite her own tasks. The restaurant was also very clean and well-sanitized.

The service at the restaurant was quick and friendly, but when I got home, I found my sandwich to be way too salty to eat. When I called to voice my concern, Zach mentioned that he personally enjoys salt and didn’t see it as an issue. I requested to speak with the manager, but I was told they weren't available. It felt very disrespectful, and it seemed like no one cared about the fact that I paid for a sandwich I couldn’t eat! I won’t be returning.
