Centini Restaurant & Lounge - Calgary

Simply terrific.__Four of had dinner First order of business was to throw the menus away.

Snotty service. And the food was sub-par. There are far better food establishments in the city. I won't be returning.

We were a table of fourAs far as drinks service was concerned, it was attentive but not friendly.

This was my second visit to Centini for dinner and although I had loved it the first time I was unsure of what to expect given that I had recently found out I am celiac. A bread basket with a variety of fresh baked breads is provided at the beginning of your meal, and I was a able to get some gluten free bread for myself (you have to ask for it). There is olive oil and vinegar at your table for dipping also. Our server was very attentive and did not make me feel out of place for being gluten free. He was very knowledgable in what menu items were gluten free and I was very impressed with how much of the menu was or could be made gluten free (the majority of the items!). Their pasta dishes can be substituted with homemade gluten free pasta and it is delicous! The risottos are also gluten free. I had the sea bass as well, which was excellent. There are also several desserts which are gluten free. Overall wonderful experience with no complaints. Prices are high, but the quality of the food (coupled with good service) makes it worth it, and the portions are good.

We had not been to Centini for some time so decided to celebrate my Husbands birthday there this year.We love the quiet ambiance of this space and were seated at a nice table near the window. Service was excellent and discrete.The wine list is extensive with prices to suit all budgets. We chose our favourite Amarone Zenato which was nicely decanted for us and served as needed by our attentive and discrete server.The meal was simply outstanding. One of the best we have ever had. My husband chose scallops to start. They were perfect. I had the crab and avocado salad. I loved it and the dressing was subtle yet allowed the taste of the crab to dominate. We both had Sea Bass as a main course. It was prepared in a lobster broth with pancetta. It was delectable and served with a variety of crisp vegetables and fingerling potatoes. We finished with coffee and the soft chocolate cake....lovely.Centini's prices are in line with other great restaurants in Calgary. This is one of the the very best. Enjoy!
