El Taco Truck Calera

I recently enjoyed a takeout lunch from this place, and I must say it was a delightful experience! The price per person falls within the $10–20 range, making it quite affordable. I highly recommend trying their tacos; they were absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of my meal. Overall, a fantastic option for a tasty and budget-friendly lunch!

We discovered El Taco Truck while on our way to Birmingham, and we’re so glad we did! The menu is straightforward but offers a great selection of meats. They also serve fried plantains, churros, and street corn in a cup. I tried two chicken tacos and one tripe taco, all of which were incredibly flavorful and fresh, accompanied by a grilled Serrano pepper. My husband ordered the BBQ beef burrito, which was bursting with taste, generously filled, and equally fresh. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely terrible! When I called at 8:03 PM to ask for directions, the person I spoke with clearly had trouble understanding English and hung up on me. The woman taking my order was not friendly at all. The $12 quesadilla came with just a scoop of lettuce and tomatoes—no chips or salsa, which made it feel really overpriced. To make matters worse, the chicken still had bones in it. Yuck! Overall, it was not a pleasant dinner experience.

I've dined here many times, and today I ordered 2 tacos, 1 quesadilla, and 1 cup of corn. My total came to $22, and I suspect they charged me DoorDash prices, as the tacos are typically $4.10 each and the quesadilla is $10.80.
