Food House Cafe - Cairns

Great place to dine with views of the Esplanade. Healthy and tasty food at affordable price. Inexpensive place to try Australian meat Kangaroo, Emu, Crocodile and Camel. All day menu and it's BYO!!!

We went to this place twice for tbone steaks, and they were cooked exactly as we liked them, and it is not as crowded as some of the other places. You can sit at benches and either face the water and watch the traffic, or the other way, and watch the people go by. Great value for money

Delightful young lady served us lunch which was a chicken burger and a Greek salad with halloumi, the salad was ok but tiny, two bits of cheese and some leaves and a few olives ($12), joke! The chicken burger was cheap rubbish, frozen reconstituted horror! ($9). Not good, life is too short for food like this, which is ironic really, (could shorten it).

Nice little hole in the wall cafe, we bumped into the owner last night and he told us about it, great service and yummy food.

Terrific spot to start the day in Cairns. Great coffee and a fantastic view of the esplanade. Friendly staff with really helpful advice. Thanks John for giving Tadhg and I a brilliant start to our day in Cairns ????
