We often struggle with long tasting menus but the five course tasting menu at Fork is just about doable. The steak tartare is one of the best I have ever tasted and the Parmesan foam with it is inspired. My wife was delighted by the salmon and beetroot starter. Technically the sister restaurant of its Michelin starred companion but on the same site and using the same kitchen and staff, the food is definitely one star quality.
We went to Fork because its Michelin restaurant Dal Corsaro doesn’t offer lunch, it was absolutely the best choice in town- Professional service, super friendly staff and the well demonstrated tasting menu.
We visited on a Wednesday night and ordered two starters, a primi and two main courses. The service was very friendly and the house wine really good. However we felt like the food was lacking something. For my taste the dishes were rather bland. Along with 5 glasses of wine and water we paid 120€ which was reasonable.
The difference comes out for lunch, and a sensory path of flavors, combinations. I don't want to describe the dishes because they're all to discover. A pleasure for the palate. I'll be back.
On Sunday we stayed at lunch at the Fork restaurant and how the other times we were very well. We tried the new menu that didn't disappoint our expectations. Excellent appetizers, among all the tomato package filled with spigola raw struck me for its freshness and balance of flavors; excellent also the roasted octopus and there tartare of manzetta. Among the first we opted for homemade spaghetti with anchovies and lemon, creamy and delicate taste. Excellent also the seconds and sweet delicacies with which we ended the meal. Always very kind the owner who made us feel at home.
