Viceroy Of India - Caerphilly

We went to this restaurant to have a meal with some friends we hadn't seen in a while. Our group of 8 had a variety of dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. The menu had a good selection for all of us, which was nice. However, the manager was unfriendly and didn't show any warmth when taking our orders. The food was average and not served hot – just lukewarm. One of the servers who brought us drinks was very pleasant and created a friendly atmosphere, in contrast to the manager who was unfriendly. We had to get napkins and cutlery from other tables as they were not provided during the starters, and we also had to borrow them for our main meals. One person in our group noticed that the tablecloth was not clean when we first sat down. I think giving this restaurant 3 stars is fair. It's okay, but it would have gotten a higher rating if the manager had been more welcoming.

I have dined at this restaurant numerous times over the years, and the food has always been exceptional. However, during our recent visit, the service was incredibly poor. The staff were rude and unprofessional, with minimal interaction beyond grunts. The atmosphere felt rushed, with diners being asked to finish their meals so the plates could be cleared. The manager displayed a lack of people skills and failed to engage with customers. Our order was taken abruptly before the server walked off, and we felt uncomfortable with the staring from the drink server. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I will be choosing to dine at Flavours Of India in the future.

Lovely take away and service. Great that we can order on messenger by 4pm and collect in the evening.

I pre-ordered on social media for pick-up and was very pleased with the timing and collection process. Although I initially forgot to include a curry in my order, the restaurant contacted me before I even realized my mistake. They promptly delivered the missing dish to my home for free, along with some extra food. I have been a loyal customer for some time now and have never been disappointed. I will definitely continue to dine here in the future!

Picked up takeaway unpacked at home looked and smealt absolutely dreadfulThey forgot to put our pilau rice in so rang up, really rude on phone but delivered our rice none of the family could eat anything so put it back in bag and gave back to driver when they delivered. It was bright red and watery and the smell was enough to turn anyone. Complete waste of £37Worst takeaway ever
