The Church Inn - Caerphilly

This was not our first visit, unfortunately we were not impressed this time. I couldn't fault the food at all. We ordered the beef and requested horseradish sauce, but they had run out. We then ordered coffee, but it was only instant coffee as the coffee machine was out of order. We were not informed of this until it arrived, and were presented with only 1/4 of a teaspoon of sugar. After complaining, some more sugar was found. The pub was very cold to the point of being uncomfortable. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Just got home from our first visit here following a social media post I saw today. We thoroughly enjoyed the food it was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

I would 100% recommend the food here! There was a party of 15 people and every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed every meal! Highly recommend the ribeye Steak it was delicious and cooked to perfection! The burgers (chicken and beef) were so juicy and melted in your mouth. All meals were cooked perfectly and can’t wait to come and visit again! The chef did an outstanding job ‍ and the desserts and a must!

First time here and when the five of us arrived we were the only ones there which surprised us as it was early afternoon. When we were given the menu we were surprised at the variation and by the end of the meal we were totally hooked. The staff were brilliant and the food was amazing. As we live quite locally we will be back as often as we can. Thank you all for a brilliant afternoon

I had pre-booked Sunday lunch at this restaurant. It took a long time to get a drink because people picking up takeaways seemed to be prioritized over other customers. The prawn cocktail was very basic, with just one small lettuce leaf, prawns, and watery marie rose sauce - it was bland. The main course was nice, but the vegetables were a bit on the tepid side. Desserts were overpriced. The staff were pleasant, but overall I wouldn't rush back to this restaurant.
