We didn’t have BBQ as we didn’t want the kids crawling around the sizzling hot grill, but I would like to come back for a BBQ feast. The restaurant was a regular in the “Best Korean” category at the Restaurant Awards. But they didn’t care to do anything innovative to keep up with the dining trends. However, if they are keeping the customers happy, that’s all it matters.
Came here during weekend lunch after church, ordered something that i craved, jajangmyun and tangsuyuk i think that's how you spell it, so the jajangmyun black bean paste noodle, is good i don't think you can mess up that one, and the tangsuyuk is deep fried pork with vegetable, defintiely have the sweetness from fruit and vegetable. overall if you're craving for korean food i think this location will be satisfy your craving. definitely worth dropping by for a simple meal
During a particularly snowy portion of December, where one would barely be able to see the ground in front of them due to the immense snowfall, some friends and I had previously made plans for dinner and karaoke. We decided that snow or not, we were going to follow through with our plans! The first stop, some warm yummy Korean eats.
Hanwoori Is located on Imperial Street (a block away from Kingsway). They have a decent size parking space. <br/ <br/ We try Mul Naeng Myun 冷麵 and Soontofu Jjigae.<br/ Mul Naeng Myun is a buckwheat noodle in cold beef broth, topped with sliced beef, pickled radish and halved boiled egg. The noodle is very tasty and pretty chewy. <br/ <br/ Soontofu Jjiga is a soft tofu stew with baby clams, shrimp, and pork in spicy broth. It is severed in a hot stone pot, and it is filled with lots of tofu. Delicious! <br/ We enjoy both dishes. We take off a point because they only allow one time refill on the side dishes, but we definitely will go back and try their Korean BBQ. <br/ <br/ Food: Should Try! <br/ Service: <br/ Price: $30-$50 for two<br/ Parking: <br/ Explore the menu: noodles, tofu soup
Hanwoori Korean Restaurant in Burnaby is popular for their Korean BBQ Set meals. We came here on Mother’s Day and they were all booked up with reservations, but they still told us to show up early at 5pm as there would be seats open. There is some ventilation in the restaurant, but it isn’t very powerful. If you are dining here, don’t wear your best clothes as they will smell. All the tables here are booth seating.
