Broken Rice Restaurant - Burnaby

This is a hidden gem in the Burnaby Heights area. There are not too many Vietnamese restaurants that have a variety of interesting dishes other than the usual pho. This is a quiet restaurant which is great to meet for a catch-up lunch or dinner with friends. The service is attentive and fast. The best items on the menu are the salad rolls, which are generous in size and tastes fresh as well as being nicely presented, and the butter jalapeno basil chicken wings which are fabulous and crispy. Surprisingly, the pho is quite average in taste and a bit bland and watery. <br/ <br/ The only thing I would recommend is having some pictures on the menu because I wasn't sure what the items were based on just the minimal descriptions alone.

Best deep fried rolls I've ever had.  The pho is really good, too. Polite and quick workers with a nice looking establishment. My go-to Vietnamese restaurant.

Friendly staff and good quality ingredients. The favour is was tasty and well portioned. The highlight is the quality of the meat used and the amount given. When compared to the majority of other viet places it seems like this restaurant has better quality. That being said the price also reflects this. Overall very satisfied with the experience. Will definitely revisit.

A longtime favorite in the neighborhood, I recently revisited the restaurant to see if it still lived up to my memories from years past.
