The bar itself is wonderful, but there are some qualms with this place that they definitely need to address. I arrived with a group of 6 (females) and when asking about seating at the bar, we were faced with a pair of rude hosts. Instead of attempting to see if there was any space at the bar, we were immediately denied entry because we did not have reservations...to sit at the bar. Of course, one of the floor managers came up to the hosts and refuted their claim, saying that we had plenty of space at the bar. So overall, my first impression of their host staff is non-welcoming. However, the night started to change when we sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. The atmosphere is upscale with candles, music, and powerful- but delicious- drinks. A fantastic bartender, Ludo, took care of us all night and we were amazed at his artistry and his passion for craft cocktails. Although it was a bit pricey for Argentina, it is similar to New York City prices, for the same quality (in cocktails) so I wasn't disappointed at all. The food is good, not great, and also slightly overpriced for the quality as well. However, I split the steak with another and that food amount was perfect for the two of us. The end of the night, however, ended with the same rudeness as it began, especially with the host staff. It was raining, so we requested a radio taxi, which would require one of the host to call a taxi cab for the group. The amount of whining about not wanting to call the taxi cab, and how inconvenient it was for him to have to call was so unexpected and completely downgraded the experience I had at the bar. The hospitality I experienced with the Bartender in comparison with the host staff were on two different ends of the spectrum. I would come again for Ludo, but the host staff need some hospitality training.
Bar is really upscale and great music. The place has a great atmosphere. Food was not great just acceptable but the place makes up for it. The manager Matias needs serious training. He recomended us two bottles of wine and none of them where what we had expalined to him. He charged us for both bottles without drinking them and he never went out of his way to make sure we were having a good dinner.
This is a great cocktail bar and would be a cozy evening with a date. For a business dinner with 15 people I found it not as appropriate. To accommodate that size of group we were seated with multiple tables pushed together with bench seating on one side and chairs on the other. The people sitting with the bench seating were stuck behind the tables unable to exit until everybody in the row got up - that type of set up is never my preference. There is a great and comprehensive wine list, a very interesting and broad menu, and a lovely selection of desserts. Given that I was with a large group I observed and was able to sample and discuss many different dishes. Some were better than others. The fish dishes appear to be excellent and were confirmed so by my colleagues. The pasta, although homemade, was only OK. It was a bit tough, chewy, and not very flavorful. The risotto was fantastic, as was the slow braised veal. For appetizers we had burrata salad, calamari, rice and cheese croquette which was similar to a type of arancini, and sweet breads. Everything was good, but nothing outstanding from my perspective. The sweet breads were a disappointment for me and many of my Argentine colleagues… They were literally "sweet", which was unexpected and not particularly welcome. While I am pleased to have tried this restaurant this would not be on my list for dinner, likely only cocktails.
Businness lunch there and we had a great moment. Food is great Service is good Quick and efficient No hesitation, I will go back there Recommend!
