Louisiana Bayou Bistro - Brusly

I made a reservation for July at AM. I arrived at and waited until past but no one arrived to open up the restaurant. If they weren't planning on opening for July they should have disallowed OpenTable reservations for that date put up a sign outside saying that they're closed and/or have their voicemail recording state so. We could have avoided wasting half an hour if this place had been less inept.

I went there for Valentine's day. I ordered a cup of seafood gumbo, blackened redfish with mashed potatoes and salad. The gumbo and salad came out with the main meal which I wasn't pleased with. The fish was more like baked fish instead of blackened and my mashed potatoes were ice cold. I was disappointed for that because it wasn't crowded yet, but I will try it again just to see if the same thing happens. If that happens I won't go back. But the food tasted good and would have been fantastic if it was warm.

Food was hot and tasty as we opted for the buffet instead of ordering off the menu. There was a decent selection of meats and seafood so as to satisfy everyone's taste. Service was excellent for a party of and nobody had to wait very long for drinks, etc. Deserts were sorely lacking. Bread pudding and pieces of cake were all that was offered. I must admit that the bread pudding was excellent but maybe a soft serve machine would help out. Not our first time there and won't be our last as well.

I made a reservation for July 4th at 11:00. I arrived at 10:45 and waited until 11:00, but no one showed up to open the restaurant. If they are not planning to open on July 4th, they should either disable OpenTable reservations for that date or put up a sign outside indicating that they are closed. It would have been helpful to have their voicemail recording state their closure as well. It was frustrating to waste half an hour waiting at a restaurant that seemed to be closed.
