Emperor Palace - Broomfield

Update: I still love this place and their dim sum menu still rocks! Today I tried the egg custard bun, salt and pepper tofu, and combination fried rice. The custard bun was delicious! Salt and pepper tofu was perfectly crisp. (I could never make it this crispy at home! Their fried rice is my favorite and some of the best I've ever had. Recently I had their congee and it was also very good. It's nice to have a takeout congee option if you don't want to make your own at home.

I used to drive there at least 4 times a month. Now I am hearing this place has closed, even the number is disconnected. I love their food but won't drive to any more closed places.

We were out in Westminster and decided to come by for lunch. It wasn't busy at all. Unlike dim sum restaurants with the carts, they give you a paper to tick off items you want to order. Some of the items were cold like the egg tarts and shrimp noodle roll. Otherwise, the other dishes were quite good. The xiao long bao was tasty and actually had soup contained in the dumpling instead of leaking out. The walnut shrimp was my favorite. I could easily eat an entire plate on my own. If you decided to come by, I highly recommend ordering off the menu instead where the dish will come out hot from the kitchen.

Sunday afternoon dim sum and the place was packed. One, good service for our party of 6 and accommodating for 2 little kids as well. Two, dim sum selections were on point. Rice noodle rolls are right texture with lots of sweet soy sauce. Shrimp and pork dumplings done very well lots of flavor and dough doesn't break easy. Wasn't expecting to find dim sum in Broomfield, but glad that I did!

I really enjoy this place! The entire experience is fantastic and the food is the most unique Asian food I've tasted. The place was recommended to me by a teacher that worked at my old school that was from China. She said it was the most authentic Chinese restaurant she had been to in the area. The steamed buns are fantastic, the wonton soup is great too! Overall great food and super friendly staff! I think if you go for lunch they even roll the dim sum cart around! A most try at least once!
