Saraghina - Brooklyn

A true gem. The pizza is so good and they can make anything vegan! If you're in the area you must go!

Saraghina has my heart. Move over Roberta's because we have a new a more local favorite place to be! As a pizza lover and cocktail enthusiast this is my go to Bedstuy pizzeria. My first review however this is at least my 10th time going here! Tonight we started off with the burrata shishito peppers. I don't like spicy at all but we're told they were not and it was great! Especially with a squeeze of lemon! The burrata was good, I've had better and larger portion sizes, but I'll stick with the whipped ricotta. We then moved on the have the cacio pepe and the chicken. Just amazing!! The chicken was moist paired well with the seasonal veggies.

Popped in for a quick dinner for my wife and I. We ordered three appetizers. The asparagus came out on a bed of mayonnaise (we think) which neither of us are a fan of and had egg salad on top which again neither of us are a fan of. We ordered the barratta cheese which was interesting but can't say it was a taste either of us loved. The tuna was the best appetizer hands down. Good news is that the brick oven pizzas here are phenomenal. I had a GF salsicha and my wife had the regular mushroom. Both delicious. Had we just ordered pizza we would have voted 5 stars hands down.

My friend lives in the area and has been many times so I was excited to try this place. We waited for about 5-10 minutes at the bar before we were seated in the back patio. I was glad we sat outside since the air conditioning was way too cold for when we were inside. We both ordered the mezcal margaritas, they were really good and refreshing. We ordered the burrata, Truffle Cacio e pepe and the ricotta ravioli. I was not very impressed with the burrata which sat on top of rhubarb and pistachio but I loved the bread that came with it. They have a bakery and bake the breads in house. The truffle cacio e pepe pasta was delicious and very filling. I tried my friend's ravioli and I thought it was fine but nothing special. The pizza looked very good so I'll definitely try that if I'm back in the area.

This place is super close to my apartment and I've always wanted to check it out! What intrigued me the most was that all their pizza options can be made gluten free and vegan which is music to my dietarily restricted ears. Although I didn't eat in and just ordered to go, I really enjoyed my experience. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and took their time explaining the menu items to me. I ended up ordering the margherita pizza which was pretty affordable for the size (although they do charge extra for gluten free and vegan swaps...oh well! . They told me it would be a 15-20min wait so I went back to my apt and right at the 20min mark, they had it ready for me. Now let's talk about the pizza. OMG. So freaking good. Like they are seriously not playing around here and even with it being vegan gluten free, they did not compromise on the quality. I can easily see this becoming a go to pizza spot for me. Overall I highly, highly recommend!
