Goat Roti was delicious, unlike Golden Place, Ali’s and Royal Bakery the Roti wrap at Errol’s doesn’t have that dusty powdery taste from the ‘flour’ used to make the wrap, they remove it so you taste nothing but the curry and the goat. Goat nice, soft tender and PLENTY unlike Ali’s and others who give you a load of potatoes and 3 pieces of goat attached to the bone and the bone be bigger than the piece of goat and my close friend recommended me to try Sorrel (in California the mexicans call it “Jamaica” or “Haimaica” or Hibiscus tea) for a long time promising how good it was, the carribean style was NOT a let down; sweetly delicious with ginger mixed, sorrel is an GOOD DRINK especially with the Curry Goat Roti meal.
I've been to Errol's a few times now and can honestly say they have some of the best food in NYC. I've tried the curry chicken, jerk chicken and stewed chicken as main courses so far. All were amazing but curry chicken is my go to now. The rice and beans is always cooked right. Has yet to be hard or mushy at all. The sweet plantains are always a favorite of mine but even the steamed veggies are good. I finally tried the beef patty today. Although I haven't had many homemade beef patties in my life, this was definitely the best one I've ever had. The bread pudding baked goods are all amazing. Sweet, moist and super heavy. The cassava bread is perfect as well. The fried chicken is top notch, regular and bbq style. All the left overs warm up great too. I really don't think the food could get any better. The service is equally as good. Both of the ladies have been very helpful with all my questions and have been very welcoming. I'm in the area once a week or so and can't leave without stopping at Errol's first.
Amazing oxtail and rice and peas. We traveled from Phoenix, customer service was extremely helpful. Patties were the best, beef chicken and salmon. Great pastries and cakes, we finished those on the plane ride back
I ordered an escovitch fish dinner. Unfortunately the fish was dryer than dry with no escovitch sauce on it, and the veggies were literally overcooked to the point where the onions were like chewing plastic. Barely any peas in the rice and peas. The steam veg was cabbage mixed with a previously frozen vegetable medley. It's getting increasingly harder to find Jamaican restaurants to patronize these days.
I love their food, all of it. The staff is very friendly and helpful.Food: 5/5
