Murray's Cheese - Broad Channel

Pretty regular if you ask me. Their fresh mozz is not that great. There’s no shredded cheese, I asked the guy at the counter if they should shred a block and they couldn’t. They have like 2 kinds of Mexican cheese which is sad for a cheese store that’s as big as it is. The mac and cheese isn’t anything to write home about. Their stuffed shells were average at best. Their vodka sauce is very regular and also $11 for a small container. Murray’s is overpriced and average. Goto Rafetto’s if you want really good fresh mozz, best in the neighborhood. Also their pasta and sauces are SO much better than Murray’s. I probably won’t be going back.

Knowledgeable young men behind cheese counter. My cheese shop has been unable to secure some of my favorite cheeses. Murrays had them all..Balarina a 4+ year aged goat, 4+ year aged cow Gouda, Roaring 40’s blue from King Farm in Australia.

This is still the best cheese shop around. Couldn’t live without it. MY wouldn’t be the same without it. Murray’s has gone through many changes over the last few years, but they’re starting to really figure it out and you can’t find a better selection anywhere. Big shout out to Ian, who is the best cheesemonger I’ve seen in years. He gives great recommendations and always portions his cuts to exactly the right amount. Also give a shout out to Shannon working the register who keeps the line short so I can get back to business. Rock on!

On 6/8/24- My husband thought this was a bone [classic mac with bacon] and spit it out realizing it was a sharp plastic shard. We received a refund for this one item and an, oh... whoops. Sorry. Fine...but quite measly in comparison to what could have happened had he choked on this. I hope you are aware of how grossly negligent the staff can be.
